EduVoices: Championing Foster Futures is a podcast amplifying the voices and stories at the intersection of foster care and education. Through in-depth conversations with educators, CASA volunteers, social workers, legal advocates, and policymakers, this series explores the challenges and solutions shaping the educational outcomes of foster youth. Produced in collaboration with Texas Tech University and key community partners, EduVoices blends research, advocacy, and storytelling to inform, inspire, and drive systemic change.

🎙️ Dr. Stephanie Barbre — Co-Host
Dr. Stephanie Barbre is an Assistant Professor of Practice in School Psychology at Texas Tech University. Prior to transitioning into academia, she worked as a practicing school psychologist in the Lubbock area and served the profession as an executive board member and past president of the Texas Association of School Psychologists. Her combined experiences as a practitioner and faculty member inform her focus on applying research to strengthen professional training, collaborative practices, and access to school psychological services in small and rural schools.

🎙️ Dr. Dusty L. Palmer — Co-Host
Dr. Dusty L. Palmer is an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University with over 25 years of experience in education. A three-time Texas Tech graduate, he began his career as a band director in a small rural school district before serving as a rural secondary principal. These professional experiences inform his practical approach to preparing school leaders. His work focuses on leadership preparation and district partnerships that support principal development.
